’59 PAF – Thicker Mids & Singing Vintage Sustain

The ’59 PAF is voiced for the smoother, thicker side of the Olemy PAF range, with a fuller midrange, silkier top end and a more vocal sustain.

It is designed for players who want a slightly richer PAF-style voice that pushes an amplifier a little harder, while keeping the response clear, musical and controlled.

The Sonic Profile
  • Silky, singing top end that carries a natural, sweet woodiness without ever sounding harsh.
  • Thick, prominent midrange that cuts through a mix with strong vocal authority.
  • Defined, balanced low end that provides rich sustain and stays full, clear and controlled.
Machine-Wound Consistency

The ’59 uses controlled winding patterns modelled on Leesona-style coil behaviour across both coils, with no intentional coil offset.

This more symmetrical coil structure gives the pickup a smoother top end, stronger midrange focus and a fuller, more vocal response. With a slightly hotter bridge wind, the ’59 has extra sustain and harmonic density while remaining clear and touch-sensitive.

Period-Accurate Construction

Every component is chosen around vintage-spec PAF construction:

  • Bobbins & Wire: Hotter-wound 42 AWG plain-enamel wire wound onto authentic butyrate bobbins.
  • The Steel: Low-carbon steel screws and slugs to preserve the sweet high end.
  • Baseplates & Covers: Pure nickel-silver, never copper-plated or brass, to preserve clarity and openness.
  • The Core: UK-cast Alnico II magnets for a softer attack, sweet high end and natural musical compression.
  • The Details: True maple spacers and brass bobbin screws complete the assembly.
Engineered Specifications (Measured at 1 kHz)
  • Bridge: 8.3 kΩ | 5.04 H | 3.81 nF
  • Neck: 7.5 kΩ | 4.00 H | 4.90 nF
